Pulse is the University of Miami’s student-run live entertainment news program, delivering campus and pop culture stories to a diverse audience bi-weekly. The show covers music, film, campus events and trending topics, combining professional reporting with creative storytelling. With a focus on high-quality production, timely content and engaging visuals, Pulse provides students with hands-on experience in television production, journalism and digital media, preparing the next generation of media professionals.

According to the Broadcast Education Association (BEA), UMTV ranks #10 nationally for overall media institutions, with top 5 placements in both news and sports programming . Additionally, the program has secured first-place awards in prestigious competitions such as the College Television Awards, the NATAS Suncoast Student Production Awards and the Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts . These accolades underscore UMTV's commitment to excellence in broadcast journalism and its role in shaping the next generation of media professionals.
